New in the World of EDM – Vol. 10 | EPIC Productions

March 4th, 2013

This edition of New in the World of EDM features the freshest and hottest mega-mixes of this week!

The first mix is from everyone’s favorite radio show Diplo and Friends on BBC 1Xtra. Every Saturday night, Diplo welcomes a couple of his friends to drop the best and grimiest mixes possible. This past Saturday, house producer/DJ Avicii and trap god RL Grime each threw down hour-long, life-changing sets.

Buzz has been about surrounding Avicii’s different approach when tackling the tracklist for his portion of the show – but let us assure you it is a must hear. He opens the set with a small compilation of oldies to soothe the soul, and then throws Justice’s legendary track “D.A.N.C.E.” into the equation, transforming the mix into an electro dance group of tracks with a splash of disco and glitch influences. Cleverly incorporating the original song to which he owes his success – “Something’s Got Ahold On Me” by Etta James – Avicii truly has mastered his art.

You don’t wanna miss out on this amazing set of songs. Also, grab it for free download.

The next part on the most recent Diplo and Friends belongs to trap master RL Grime. This hour-long accumulation of unreleased gold and our most cherished trap tunes is perfect for any turn up session. He throws down tracks by numerous trap producers such as Flosstradamus, Baauer and Bro Safari, while also dropping a number of hip-hop tunes by artists Missy Elliot, Kendrick Lamar and Lil Kim.

Next up is an essential mix from some of our favorite bass producers, Zeds Dead. This two-hour mix features tracks from their new Hotsauce EP, as well as some of their classics like “Rumble in the Jungle”, “Adrenaline ” and their euphoric remix of “Eyes On Fire”. The duo also throws in tracks by artists you wouldn’t think of when it comes to a mega-mix like this, such as: Sublime, Radiohead and Gorillaz – but hey – we aren’t complaining.

Last, we’re featuring two huge artists who are making an appearance in Chico next month! Yeah, we’re talking about Kill The Noise and Brillz. The two have collaborated a bunch in the past, but have taken their doubtlessly unstoppable style to new heights with their hour-long “Mystical Wonder Mix”.

Brillz takes on the first half of the mix with a collection of traptastic tunes to melt your brain. He drops his two greatest remixes of the songs “Roots” by Kill The Noise and “Clarity” by Zedd – making the set amazing in itself. He also throws in tracks by trap favorites Heroes and Villains, ETC!ETC! and LOUDPVCK.

Next, Kill The Noise takes a more hybrid approach to his piece of the mix, incorporating moombahton, electro, dubstep and trap. Jam out to this seamlessly compiled group of songs, perfect for any occasion. He throws down original tracks such as “Mosh It Up” and “Black Magic” (Kill The Noise Pt. 2), while also including sick remixes of songs from producers Knife Party, The M Machine and Noisia.

Check out this dope mix to get you pumped for Kill The Noise and Brillz’ stop on their Black Magic Mystical Wonder Tour in Chico, Calif. They’re packing out the Senator Theater on Saturday, April 27.
