Dance Music Sweeps the Grammys

This past Sunday night was the highly anticipated Grammy Awards. Not only was is the biggest night in music, but it was also a huge success for edm artists all over.

The world’s new favorite duo, The Chainsmokers, not only took home the award for Best Dance Record with Don’t Let Me Down, but they were also honorably nominated for Best New Artist, as well as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their number one hit Closer ft. Halsey.

2016 has clearly been a monumental year for The Chainsmokers and with the release of their latest single Paris and the announcement of their first stadium tour and full length album, it would not be a big surprise if we see these two at next year’s Grammy Awards.

The second win came from Flume, with Best Dance/Electronic Album award for Skin, beating out Tycho, Jean-Michel Jarre, Underworld and Louie Vega. Last year’s winners in both these categories was dance duo, Jack Ü with Where Are You Now ft. Justin Bieber and album, Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü.

Edm has had a phenomenal impact on music around the world and continues to grow stronger with new music and producers popping up every year. This year’s Grammy Awards was truly a win for all professional and aspiring DJs and music lovers.
