This week I was fortunate enough to get in contact with an up and coming trap/bass superstar known as Prismo. For those of you who don’t know, Zack Burgett (A.K.A. Prismo) is a young producer hailing from Houston, Texas. With-in the past two years, Prismo has released music on Firepower Records, Monstercat, and several other huge labels. His innovative synth work and high energy sound design is what sets him apart from others and has gained him recognition in the EDM world. 2016 was a huge year for him but 2017, as he explains, will be even bigger. Erick Morillo & Eddie Thoneick team up for "Lost In You"

Ready to shuffle? If you do not know how, you will soon want to learn to do so to German DJ Eddie Thoneick’s newest hit “Lost In You” - In collaboration with fellow artists Erick Morillo, and Angel Taylor with vocals.

With Angel Taylor’s voice subtly teasing the constant drum riffs and building piano - “Lost In You” immediately proves itself as a stand out song by sparing no expense and dropping the beat before the 60 second mark. Over 7 minutes total, the drum line rises and falls leading up to the main melody. Overall, creating an extremely mystical and lighter than air feel of a tune.

Riddm- A New Kind of Dubstep

If you’re a fan of dark, gritty bass music, I’m sure you’re more than familiar with this seemingly new subgenre known as “Riddim”. Riddim, in short, is an offshoot of dubstep that consists of repetitive synth work, triplet percussion, and an excessive use of flangers, choruses, and delays. Though minimalistic, riddim tracks often pack a punch that always seems to leave the crowd asking for more.

To me, what’s great about this subgenre is the experimental nature behind it. Defined almost solely by elaborate synth work, riddim has allowed for the emergence of a whole new level of sound. New artists are emerging each day, incorporating new sounds/synth work in their productions that seem to only be pushing the genre further.
